Since I am printing these out of Block Base, I don't know if your pattern is different from the one in Block Base, is it?
Rosy, I think your fabric choices are great. Very original. I'm not sure I would have had the imagination to put those fabrics together. I REALLY like them. This is a fabric line I'm not familiar with. What manufacturer is it? Again, I REALLY like your blocks.

Interesting because from the 1920's to the 40's the KC Star published a pattern a week in their paper. These are the pattern that later became the books they published. My great grandmother collected these patterns and infact made some quilts from them. I have her patterns, aged, fragile and priceless to me, they are in a folder she kept them in all those years ago. I looked in them, and sure enough found a couple of the patterns you are going to be making in your quilt. Just thought I'd share. Small world. K
You are right JM. Some time ago I purchased a dvd of all the newspaper patterns on ebay, just because I wanted to have them for nostalgia. I do own Block Base by EQ and all the patterns are in that program. Every pattern ever published (I think). I forget now if it's 4000 or more.

You can search for date, number, wildcard, name, source and print out paperpiece, template or rotary cutting instruction and the size you want. They are all in the public domain and anybody can do a book with their own instructions. I have so many books that I just don't buy them anymore but refer to my BB. Books give you ideas and get you motivated. It's always is inspiring to see what someone else can do with the blocks, for instance this quilt.

Karen, the fabic is Aunt Gracie. The thing is with this line of fabric, anything you do with it goes and it looks good. I don't remember who makes it, just google it and you will find that several companies make it.

Terrific blocks ladies! Loved reading about the blocks being published years ago in a newpaper...wish they'd still that kind of thing instead of a lot of what they print these days.

I must get busy and finish my #3 block...you gals are super speedy for sure! I mustn't get left behind here or I'll quilt...so today, I sew!

Blue is my fabric, orange is feathery, and was picked out by the OTL. Jan-while I love both of your choices, I must be in the holiday spirit-I love love love your christmas designs.

Did anyone else start out making blocks ahead, but now find themselves trying to get the last one done on Monday (for me it was during lunch......)

Have a lovely day.
