Rhonda's Sampler Quilt Along - Week 14
#1
This week we have 2 differant Star Point quilt blocks and a Combination Quilt Block. I hope you like them! I so enjoy playing on my EQ and seeing these quilt blocks emerge!!
As always you can find the "Blocks" directions in the Virtual Section

Remember to make sure you use the same values in your color combinations. The more contrast you have between dark and medium and light the better the design will pop. Try not to have fabrics that blend together and you can't see the differance. This will make your design fade and you won't see the seperate elements of the design as well.
If you are makeing the smaller version remember you need fabrics that you can still see a print after you have joined the squares together. Too large a print and you could end up with nothing showing but the background color.
When you see a block that only one side of it is a differant color I still make it the same way. The biggest reason is to keep it the same as the rest of the blocks as far as size and to keep the angle right. If you want to play with it and work out how to do it with two swatches go for it!! I just think it is easier to do the same process for all the blocks.
Hope you all enjoy these! And please be sure to post your pictures on the Picture Thread!!
