Oh Rhonda, how can you be so cruel? I am trying so hard to finish some of my UFOs. I love scrappy and I love your block. Maybe just a few hours spent with the scrappy club...., darn here I go again.

Default This week's quilt block!

Here you go. Hope you like it. This is one of my favorites. I use it alot.

this one uses my Boston Blocks and HSTs
If you want a 12 1/2" unfinished quilt block then you need to use a 2 1/2" template
I send them out for free if you need one. Just send me your postal address in a pm.

Boston Directions

HSTs

I showed 2 diff ways you can use this.
controlled or totally scrappy

You can lay them out and sew them in rows or
you can sew 4 - 9 patches and then join them

this is the 9 patch and it's layout

What nice instructions Rhonda. I can see why you use that block a lot.

Default Week 11 Quilt Block

This is one of my favorite traditional quilt blocks to work with. the center of this quilt block is called an Anvil. It has been around a long time. I don't always know the names of blocks but this one I do.

I also don't usually include any borders with my blocks but this one the border strips are part of my block.

You can piece the blocks for a border strip or you can cut the strips in 2 1/2" blocks to make those.

If you use a 2 1/2" template you will get a 12 1/2" quilt block unfinished
I send out free templates so if you need one just let me know.
Just a thought here - if you use a plain square for the corners instead of an HST you can add the borders and just trim to size. or you can forget the HSTs or plain squares and just use borders all the way around.

Default Week 13 - Kansas Dugout Blocks

This week's quilt block uses Kansas Dugout blocks. this is a traditional block but as always I have my own way of making them with my cut down method.

Here is my tutorial for making kansas dugouts my way:
