Default Rhonda's Second Sampler Quilt Along - Week 15 - Mattie

This week we are using Combination Blocks and HSTs

So as usual it uses my cut down method which I think makes your blocks more accurate and you have better control of the size as you go.
Just make sure to measure each time you complete a step.
It will save a lot of frustration when you are done.

Here are the directions to making the Combination Blocks
http://www.bitsnpiecesworkshop.com/p...tionBlocks.php

My directions for making HSTS with my cut down method
http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...ks-t37915.html

To make this quilt block into a 12 1/2" unfinished size you will need a 2 1/2" template.

You can take a look at the layout picture to see what Blocks you need and where to put the colors. If you change the color arrangement you will get a differant look from mine.

So try it out and see what you can make with this design! Have fun!

If you need any help don't hesitate to ask. I'll be more than happy to help.

If you need templates let me know. I will need your postal address and PLEASE send it by pm or email not on the open board. The templates are FREE no fees or postage needed.

Here is this week's Quilt Block - Mattie

I had to see what this would look like in a quilt
So here is what I came up with

Thanks Val This one I had already designed long ago and never used. So I found it when I was scrolling through my EQ files and used it. I really like how it plays out in a quilt

This would turn out to be a great quilt. I see it know Rhonda, there will be a block and you'll have to see what it looks like in a quilt. I can see the wheels at work.

LOL as long as I can do it on EQ and dont' actually have to make a full quilt to see it I am happy!! Or maybe I will just miniaturize it and I can do that!! That actually is a good idea I may follow through on. If I do them in 6 1/2" I can do a 3 by 3 quilt. That would turn out 18" x 18" if I use 1 1/2". If I use 1 1/4" then it would be 15" x 15". Hmmmm something to think about.

Didn't mean to make more work for you, I just figured you already had it in your head. You are always thinking about all this. Don't over do and fry your brain. LOL I don't know where you find the time either. If I didn't go to bed so early and sleep in so late, I might get more done.

This quilt I posted under the block. I really like the look and think I might find time to work on it soon.
