Jude, it's never too late to join
Welcome to the Quilting Board!
Jude, it's never too late to join
A balanced quilter is one with a project on each finger
Eat, quilt, sleep, repeat
Nobody is completely useless, you can always serve as a bad example
If you have been lurking on this journey, you are always welcome to join us. The first thread that Honchey has started is for block one and two. As I understand it, there will be another thread for three and four. Thus, you can find Mirabelle's guide to the size of fabric for each piece in the block, and make it any time to post on the proper thread. A thread for discussion, a thread for the guide in cutting fabric for each block and a thread to post the pictures. You can ask questions on any thread, discussions are here for all...questions, comments, recipes, hints, help and we all help one another.
Fabric .... I think fat quarters, so you can adapt to each block as you go along. Question: for a table runner or quilt? You can decide later. A yard or two might be enough for total background unless you are going for a queen size, then I would guess at three yards. We all declared what fabric we thought we would use, but I have had several second thoughts and using a different selection. Main objective is to have FUN and to enjoy the journey.
Welcome, Jude, hope you enjoy the ride.
Hi Jude and welcome back, if you have a peek at the completed blocks so far most participants are using their stash and creating wonderful blocks. If you want a more controlled look pick a background fabric 3 yards should be enough for the 12 blocks, for the same outer "leaf" points I have 1 yard of fabric and for the rest I am using co-ordinating fabrics. For the setting triangles maybe another yard. This is a bit of a mystery as there are no instructions for putting it together so we can let our creative heads go and I am sure we are going to see some spectacular quilts.
Don't forget to download your patterns each month and join us when you can
Jude - we had a leak in our kitchen wall and did not know about it until we came home after a trip and found half our living room carpet dripping wet. That was in April! We just got back into our kitchen two weeks ago (5 months). Thank goodness for Homeowner's Insurance, as they paid for new carpet and new kitchen cabinets. But they were VERY slow in approving every step of the way. We moved a breakfast bar into the garage and used that for an area to fix things. Also moved the refrigerator and microwave into the garage. We still need the glass tile backsplash done, and that is scheduled for next week. Our tile guy is very busy.
