This was such a great ride. I produced a great quilt , I can't wait for the next one. Will there be a new thread for the next train ride? I am new to the board by a month and I am still learning my way around.

By the way Judy, My aunt cried when she got her quilt. Thank you for the great pattern and easy to read instructions.

finally finished the scrappy top last night..first scrappy for me, had to adjust thinking...if someone comes over today I will photo it and post....so now back to the 3rd mystery quilt which I work on each day also....just cannot decide if I want one quilt or two small, and if I want to alternate the blocks, or just make small quilts of the matching blocks....or, what, so just keep making more blocks, looking at the stack, guess it would be three small quilts now.....addicted to the Irish Chain.

Finished the top! I made 20 9-patches and it measures 72x87. I will be adding a matching black and beige border. Look closely at the very top. Out of all the 3- 2 1/2 X 4 1/2 pieces I put together for the outer frame, of course I had two that matched up to the 9 block below. OY! I didn't notice that until I was sewing it together. Oh well... I think my youngest son is going to receive this as his Christmas present this year. He really likes it, as do I. Thank you Judy for this train ride, it's been a lot of fun for me. I'll post this pic over in the picture section for others on the board to view there.

Wow these quilts are so nice! I'm st trying to decide what extra borders to put on mine to make it just a little bigger. While that thought is percolating I've gone back and done the second train ride one. It was for my BFF but DD liked it so much but wanted different colors so I did one for her too. Added a third round of star points and plain borders on the ends to hers so it would be the size she wanted. Now getting revved up for the next one! Hope it begins soon.

I've finished my top but quilting will have to wait till we get home from SB XLVII. I posted on the other thread as well.

Thank you ladies for your kind words. I plan to have it finished for a graduation gift this year, for my wonderful Grand Daughter. I sure she likes it as much as I do.
