This is an awesome quilt. I like the contemporary feel. The colors are great too. Was it hard to do? It looks difficult.
so different than anything I have seen lately. thanks for sharing your picture, I love the bright colors. I want to try to find this pattern.
Would love the pattern too! It is so unusual!! Haven't been on the board for quite awhile but thought this was worth a comment! Love it!!!! PM with patten source if you would! Thanks for sharing!
I love that!! It is so very unique...I wonder where I could find the pattern for that. My grandson would love that pattern...but my goodness! You made a large one.,...the colors are lovely! Thanks for sharing it. I never get to find the time to come here, and you are the first one I looked at!!!
You and I are in agreement! Isn't it lovely, how we each create our quilts from our imagination.. QB is a place for folks of limited skills (such as myself!) and also allows us to see and learn from those talented quilters out there.. I have learned so much here! Thanks, QB!!
I am happy to learn that both destiny and taksang work from the heart when the make their quilts. It makes mine sing. thanks for the feedback and insight!
i enjoyed sharing the pictures of the 3 quilts that i have made...mainly due to them being for the grandkids. they are in their late teens and each quilt is based on what they want, theirs colors, and they are one of a kind. i have acquired all material from flea markets, yard sales, goodwills, from clothes if i like the patterns in them, the colors. i use old blankets for inner linings and sheets that i also got from garage sales and such... i use to draw and sell my drawings, but it just wasnt enough, i wanted to do my art with material...i follow no given pattern, just what is in my head.
You asked a lot of different questions, the ones I can answer is that I have never followed a pattern , sometimes a picture, make up my own patterns from what ever sources I can find and give them all away. If I knew how I would send you some pictures Taksang
This is a really nice quilt. I love green. And the quilting is exceptional! Thanks for sharing.
HI SunbonnetSmart! Nice to meet you. Thanks for dropping by and reading my blog and leaving your feedback. Where would the world be without color?
I will have to visit your site in my non-working hours. I am sure it will contain many things to inspire me.
Hello there, NJQuilter55! Well, you and I are going to get along just fine. I love color and the more the better. You'll see what I mean when you visit my web site. I feel color is medicinal, so use it in everything. I have never heard that bit about not using yellow, and I'm glad I've missed out on that rule. Yes, I agree with you. I think some rules are meant to be broken. You asked about books to teach color and I think Pat Sloan's is a good one: "Take the Fear Out Of Color" available on eBay here: http://bit.ly/15FZG9B At any rate, I really enjoyed reading and sharing the enthusiasm in this post. It was lots of fun. Good to e-meet you, Much Love, Fondly, Robin
Well, black goes with everything in clothes, and I wear alot of black and grey myself. But I love bright colors, as you can probably guess if you look at my quilt photos I've posted. I think picking the right fabrics can be very stressful for some quilters and I feel lucky to not really ever had a problem. Let me know if I can ever help you! nice to meet you by the way!
I have to admit that I take my best friend with me when I buy fabric. beside the fact that shopping with her is always fun, she has no fear of color, her kitchen is red and yellow and she purchased several shades of red before she got the just right color.
As for my wardrobe, black with a splash of bright on the good days
