Fun stuff I am working on, usually with machine applique, my favorite technique.*

As I sit in a doctor's office, during ball games, anytime there is "down" time, I have these little things to trace on leftover WonderUnder then fuse to scraps from my large applique quilts and leftover Peltex from making children's activity books. I sit there and cut as fast as I can leaving colorful wastebaskets behind. It is fun to watch those who sit nearby watching the scissors fly from over
Learning as I go. Finally found the read more button at the end of the posted pictures on my last post. So glad I didn't have to retype all that info again. Now a request to see a picture of my avatar. It is a pattern by Toni Whitney, enlarged (of course) and using gray fabric instead of her colors. (She said in an email to me that she liked the colors!) Satin stitched and ready for quilting and embellishment of 3D leaves.
I enlarged the pattern since I do the satin stitch around all the pieces and bigger is easier. Since this is a quilt pattern, the pieces are already reversed and ready for tracing. Trace them onto Wonder Under fusible web (it is cheaper and I buy it by the bolt including the placement numbers or letters.. Next I cut around the traced pieces (no on the lines) to reduce the amount of fabric getting stuck up during fusing. Choose the fabrics (I love batiks because they fray less and I love the colors).
I have been making some cute little card table playhouses. They have a playmat on the top for cars and trucks, trees, shrubs and flowers. There are three windows, a door and a mailbox which opens. I've been adding cats and butterflies. Now it's time to change things up. I ordered some camouflage fabric online which said it had a brown background fabric. When it arrived it was 3D (leaves and such are cut out). It will make a perfect little hunting blind, just for fun. Put in some pockets for flashlight
