    I do not purchase anything with the zigzag cut. I find whichever point you sew it from is not truly accurate. Sewing from the outside point makes for a weak seam while sewing from the inside point measures less than it should from seam to seam.

    A simple Google of "lap quilting hoops" will turn up every company making hoops, but I have not seen the one with a Velcro closure. The Grace and Barnett hoops both have a LARGE screw though which is easier to turn than those on previous hoops...a nice upgrade!

    Does yours have a base, or is it just the hoop? Any particular brand that you find is better?

    I have used a square hoop for my hand quilting for years. I really like them and it isn't a problem turning it around.
