I had been making doll clothes for Christmas and using some old nylon pieces -- thought I had tested them with my iron, but apparently it was just heating up -- instant melt away!!! Couldn't budge the gunk with anything and read on this site that ironing over salt on a plain white paper would work -- and it did -- thanks so much to whoever posted that tip. Saved my almost new Rowenta!!!
