I am trying to Free Motion Quilt, I made the sherbet colored quilt, I bought one of those purple pens where I traced the design onto the fabric. WELL...I also have a purple pen that is a purple dye pen... and well I picked up the wrong pen ( they look exactly alike!!!!!) I traced the design on 4 squares and well now it will not wash out - obviously. I was making this quilt for my Mom for Mother's day. I have tried alcohol, hair spray, even acetone, I have one more thing to try, Crisco. I need to
Okay, I have watched the videos read all about free motion quilting. I practiced and practiced a lot more..I traced my design onto the freezer paper then pinned the paper to my practice fabric. I did a pretty descent job, but it was sooo hard getting all the paper out from under the stitching, in some cases I actually lifted some of the thread, now it's poking up funny. What am I doing wrong, I tried so hard to delicately remove the paper.
I got a 15-91 on ebay for $190, it is absolutely in perfect condition, I have the receipt, barely used grease tub, button holer instruction book all like they were barely used. I took it to my local sewing repairman, he was stunned, he said he had NEVER seen an old machine more like new than this one. It stitches perfect. Love it.
This is the sherbet colored quilt I am speaking of.
I finished my sherbet multi color quilt top, I plan on machine quilting, mostly stitching in the ditch around squares. I don't know what color thread to use. I had an off white attached for backing. If I use off white it will look less than good (I think) but will be better for the back, if I use one color that matches most of the quilt top, it will look lousy on the back. Should I use off white in the bobbin, and color on top? Should I use one color to quilt the entire top? I have always used
Your projects are nicely done, good job.
I had planned on putting the green strip around the whole quilt, then the light colored flower fabric as a final border. What can I do to make this better, any suggestions?
