I find quilt patterns that I like everywhere, when I find one I really like I start looking at fabrics. Usually I want it to be a different set of colors than the one shown. Can anyone give me tips on how to choose fabrics, this is the hardest part of quilting for me!
And it had a virus attached to it, my computer was protected, but it let me know a virus had attacked.
I had written in the blog that I was desperately looking for agua and beige/brown fabric. When I put "agua and beige/brown quilting fabric" in the search box, a link came up...it was my blog entry!!!! How did this happen?? does that happen automatically, or did some maliciously do this, because when I clicked on it, my computer immediately told me I had been attacked by a virus!!!

Here's a picture of the new stencil I tried after practicing on a quilt for my elderly Mom. I couldn't believe how much I had improved.
I held off on buying the aqua and brown/tan fabric I wanted to use on my next quilt, BIG MISTAKE. It's all gone!! I have called all the local shops looked extensively online. Does anyone know whether those colors will be restocked??? They seemed to be very popular. How do I find out what new fabric will be coming out from the manufacturers. I certainly hope they come back I love the spa colors.
My Mom was so pleased with her Mother's day gift, I got a lot of practice with FMQ.
I am thinking of using some blues and aquas in lines across the across, I think wavy lines would be great, don't know how to cut or sew them, would love to hear your answers and comments.
I am making my first attempt at a purse for my daughter's Mother's day gift. Didn't use a pattern, has a zippered pocket and one open pocket inside the lining. Anyone have any advice for putting on the top zipper and attaching the lining. No sure how to go about it, I have the zipper sewn into the top, do I sew the ends up on the zipper piece first?? Then attached to top of purse?
Here's a picture of the purse I am trying to make, also I have FMQ into all the square on this quilt, now I am trying to figure out what to stitch into the frames around the squares. How do you think it would look to stitch straight lines perpendicular to the frames?

I started a purse to give for Mother's day, I was able to apply some naugahyde to the side, but when I tried to sew two pieces together, the sewing machine gets stuck and drags and stretches the fabric. Any suggestions? I am using my old Singer 15-91, and a size 14 needle. I will post a pic next.
