It has been a while since I was here last. There has been lots going on around our house lately. We have almost finished our master bedroom (finally)!! My computer went berserk and finally crashed...causing me to loose ALL my patterns, pictures, music, documents and lots more valuable things that cannot be replaced...many tears were shed over their loss. I'm still trying to get the my computer back to what it was, but I had to change operating systems, so now I have to adjust to that as well.
CLEVER IDEAS thanks to Donna Jean
Take your bananas apart when you get home from the store.
If you leave them connected at the stem, they ripen faster.
(I didn't know that!) Another tip, peel from the bottom end, to get
none of those pesty string thingies.
Store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil.
It will stay fresh much longer and not mold.

Don't forget Burda, that is a marvelous one, it has real people's sizes.

FLEA FIGHTER FINGERS
This dough is very easy to handle. It makes a nice, dark biscuit and helps your pet repel fleas because of the presence of brewerÂ’s yeast. Makes about 100 small cookies.
2 beef bouilon cubes ( I add 4 to combat the brewerÂ’s yeast)
1 3/4 cups boiling water
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rye flour
One bar FelsNaptha Soap (Cut into thirds)
1/2 cup Arm and Hammer Washing soda
1/2 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
Grate 1/3 bar of Soap into a sauce pan. Add 6 cups of water, heat and stir until soap is all melted. Remove from heat and pour 4 cups hot tap water into the pan. Stir.
Add 1/2 cup of washing soda and 1/2 cup Borax to the pan and mix well.
