Well just finished this quilt up, by going around the dark blue block stars and stitched in the ditch around it. That was my first free hand on a queen quilt, thanks to a great teacher online. Wendy is her name on craftys. here's after pict.
Well my sister just yarned some of the quilt. She wants me to quilt around the applique stars to give it more punch, so am going to see if I can do that today. as time for graduation and her trip is ticking away. I just bought Quilting Large Quilts on a Small Machine, froms Craftys.com and I love her teaching. She teaches 4 different ways. Takes the fear away. Anyway, when I get done, will put another pict. on here.
Thanks to all for the compliments. Have slowed down on sewing, getting a reprieve I guess? Did get nieces quilt ready for her mother to yarn, for her daughters graduation next month. She is flying over to N.Carolina to surprise them at the graduation. This was english pieced stars appliqued to blocks. Actually got my sister to sew, haha!
Well, i had this almost all written and hit the wrong button and lost it all, so will start over. Have two more blocks finished for B&W quilt for downstairs bed. Have been working on all sorts of different blocks and am also trying to get nieces quilt finished. Winter gives me the opportunity to do alot of sewing, as I'm sure it does alot of us. The snow stuck me up on my hill for a couple weeks. It is melting now, so good bye cabin fever!
Well, so far this year, I have been doing BOMs that are on this site, plus one that is on craftsy's site. Really seem to be getting the hang of paper piecing. Am going to make a b&w and a sprinkle of red quilt for downstairs bedroom, so have a start, thanks to BOMs.
Well, finished decembers block yesterday and have a picture or two of the other 11. 12 blocks just aren't enough, so may have to work on that problem later. Bought some fat quarters from walmart that I may play with also this year...it seems I try to get ahead of myself and then get overwhelmed and nothing goes right, so may take a breather, i bet we all know what that is about, huh? You know, looking at all my stars together, i wish i would of had a common denominator, oh well ...a beginner BOMmer. ...
Soon, when i have some time I am going to start all over and put pictures of all the stuff I have been working on this year, now that I can resize my picts. By doing this, it kind of helps me keep track also of who got what and when. And what I still have to do!!! Don't know if I even want to go there right now...feel exhausted as it is with Christmas around the corner. May you all have a wonderful, truly fun filled and blessed Christmas!
Just finished my december BOM star block and resized it , so am going to see if this one works.
Well my christmas quilt as you go is on back burner, as the star one and others I need to finish. Christmas is coming to soon. Did get a couple presents done. Will try pictures again. The dog picture is for neighbor and thread painted faces are of GS and his girl. cartoon characterers? Anyway, broke my machine, so had to get my other one out that I haven't used hardly at all and would rather sell, as I am not into the embroidery too much anymore. We'll see where that goes.
Well worked all day yesterday on my Christmas quilt as you go....sewed three more blocks and quilted about 12 of them. Now for the putting together. Still debating if I want to make this bigger still. Here's a pict. Should I just have it as a throw?
