My son,Blaze, and his fiance, Melissa (aka Jaunty Melissa) are getting married on April 20th! One of the hardest things about life after the flood is not having my son around. I miss his ridiculous sense of humor so much!
Last Sunday was the Bridal Shower. You know I love to have fun so I prepared a little joke gift. Since Melissa lost most of her quilting stuff in the flood, I made her a little pincushion. I enclosed a note saying that I hoped she would get back to sewing after the

And in that vein, I just remembered that I've been remiss in welcoming new members to the board. I do recall that when I joined there were lovely people who took a moment to greet me so for Valentine's Day, I decided to visit the new members thread and spread the quilty love. No time to do them all, but I will try to do two or three each day. How about you?
As some of you may, or may not know, one of the primary ways I earn a living these days is by making mantillas. What's a mantilla? It's a veil. Nope, not a wedding veil. These are made for women who wear them to church on Sundays - usually those who attend the Latin Mass. Also, if you're going to the Vatican and are fortunate enough to have an audience with the Pope, you'll need one.
