  1. Quilt label pen?

    by , 07-03-2013 at 01:51 PM
Three years and the never ending King size Cathedral Window Quilt is still in progress. I have been thinking as I go. Question.... I have never done a label so was wondering what to use? Something that would be permanent and not run. I am wanting to write on the fabric itself instead of attaching a separate label. I see all of these that can be printed on your printer but wouldn't the ink run and/or wash out? I am thinking my logo plus pertinent info. Any advice would be tremendously appreciated! ...

  2. Quilting By Day, Crochet By Night

    by , 01-31-2013 at 05:59 AM
As i know my CW is so time consuming, my thought is I would never get anything else done. I am almost half through a sweater I have been working on. To ensure progress on both, I have decided on the qbd and cbn theory. I can't go wrong that way, lol. This, of course, is when time permits.

A friend of mine is also working on a CW and we keep up with each other to keep the motivation going. Do you ever begin a big project all enthusiastic and once you are in the middle of it, ...

  3. Determined To Finish!

    by , 01-20-2013 at 05:03 PM
I have recently pulled my Cathedral Window back out. Life happens and other projects took over my time. My goal is to finish this before I allow myself to start another project. Having a "Fold/Iron" marathon until all needed to finish is complete, then I will go from there. With this concept, I am hoping it will feel like I am moving faster, lol. Is there anyone else working on a CW at the moment?

  5. Bad Machine.. Bad

    by , 02-07-2012 at 06:46 PM
Well, as most know the CW is what my concentration has been on. A friend of mine worked on my machine for me over the weekend and all was well for a couple of days. I am back to the same disagreement with it so put it back up. I don't know when I'm going to realize that I am not meant to operate machinery, lol. I did manage to make it through putting 16 (4.5" squares) together before it got mad at me again. Therefore, back to all by hand once again. I am ok with this, I just think I ...

  6. Quilt Progress Motivation

    by , 01-06-2012 at 07:49 PM
When I jump into a project, I end up diving in with my head and both feet all at once. I never seem to be able to do anything small, lol. With this being said, I find myself procrastinating due to the time consumption and slow progress by hand. A friend of mine was working on the same type of quilt as I and the same goal dimensions. We sorta pushed each other forward. We would text each other as we had finished certain # of blocks, etc. It seems as if she has packed hers away or lost interest. ...

  7. Quilt Prices

    by , 12-15-2011 at 08:35 PM
I will not even begin to say that I am savvy on how much a quilt is worth nor knowledgeable on a lot of topics in the quilting world. I do know how time consuming a CW is to do completely by hand. With this being said, I was searching on eBay, Etsy and the such just out of curiosity. I wanted to see how much a CW was going for and actually selling for. My mouth dropped when I seen large CW quilts being sold for as low as $25 - $55. I guarantee either they didn't make them so that price suits ...

  8. CW Progress Pics

    by , 11-27-2011 at 03:23 PM
I have been asked by several for updated progress pics. So here you go. The pic with the 4 units together is my intended layout. It will be blue print units broken up with cream muslin like the background. The 6 units lengthwise with my sidekick is my current progress (108"x18").

  9. Fold/Iron Marathon

    by , 11-19-2011 at 08:39 AM
As many may know, I am working on a CW (King). I honestly admit being it is so slow moving (doing completely by hand), I tend to lose my motivation. Most may stop and work on something else when this happens. Me, well.. I suppose I'm a bit OCD. I do have a few non-quilt related projects in my UFO closet. In the back of my mind, I'm like, "I so need to get these done before I move on to something new." Today, my plan is to have a fold/iron marathon for this CW. I'm hoping to get ...
