  1. Cutting Machines

    by , 01-25-2013 at 04:28 PM
Has anyone used the Sizzix big Shot or Big Kick for cutting fabric. Both machines are supposed to take templates from other machines and do the job with fabric. Would I be better off with the AquQuilt Machine which is more expensive or will the Sizzix's do the job. I would appreciate comments from people who have had experiences with the machines. Thank you.

Hi Just wondering if someone could give me a good idea of a long arm quilting design that would look good on a Dresdan plate quilt top? Thanks so much

You will need two different colors for the binding strips
You cut the outer edge 1 3/8 you cut the flange peice 1 5/8 (inches)

Then sew them just like you would normal binding in one long strip ( short side ...to short side right

Cut your 2 squares the height of your finished block plus 1/2 " - so, 2 1/4" in your case. Cut the rectangle the finished width plus 1/2" - so 4" in your case.
So you need to cut two 2 1/4" squares of your background colour, and one 2 1/4 x 4" rectangle of your goose colour.

If you are fairly decent at quilting feathers (FMQ, freehand, not with a longarm pattern) would you PLEASE post pics of your feather quilting here? I need some inspiration! And apparently, lots more practice.

  10. Determined To Finish!

    by , 01-20-2013 at 04:03 PM
I have recently pulled my Cathedral Window back out. Life happens and other projects took over my time. My goal is to finish this before I allow myself to start another project. Having a "Fold/Iron" marathon until all needed to finish is complete, then I will go from there. With this concept, I am hoping it will feel like I am moving faster, lol. Is there anyone else working on a CW at the moment?
