  1. Help

  2. Help

    by , 12-30-2016 at 06:00 AM
I need the Board's help. Quite some time ago I was searching for material for a BOM from JoAnn's called Simply Sweet. You all were great help. I finished the quilt and gifted it. Why do I need help? Because others have since see the quilt and would also like to make it.
I am a snowbird and the pattern is at home. Please does anyone out there have 'Simply Sweet'? It is an older series most likely from 2010 or before. I have searched the web with no luck.
    Thanks,

  3. Mom's moved and I'm only 1 week behind

    by , 12-29-2016 at 05:32 PM
What can I say after 54 years of memories in my parent's house? So glad all the moving worked out so well this week, mom is already settled into her new studio apartment with all the boxes unpacked and pictures on the wall. And after I meet the GOT Junk people tomorrow to take whatever remains out of her house, I'll be free to sew and catch up on week 5's clue. I figured out last night how to cut half square triangles from strips I already cut to 3 1/2 in size. But I haven't cut them yet for ...
  4. Week 5 Progress on En Provence

My son is getting me an essential triangle tool so I'm trying to wait for that before doing anything else with my 3 1/2" strips. Once I get it, I'm sure it will take no time at all to make 64 half triangles.

  5. Last Christmas in the same old house it's been in for the last 54 years

    by , 12-24-2016 at 09:15 PM
On December 29th, 1962 my family moved into the house I was raised in. This year was a bittersweet Christmas eve as it was the last time my family will come together in that space to celebrate. There have been so many memories over the years of all the Christmas eves of the past where we have gathered together in good times and not so good. This year was probably the smallest gathering we've had in a long time as the next generation (my kids and their cousins) have had to work, or were traveling ...

  6. What a quaundry I'm in

    by , 12-22-2016 at 08:19 PM
I mistakenly cut all my neutrals for the En Provence quilt into 2 inch strips during my enthusiasm to complete week 1. So I went and bought more neutral fabric (1 piece only) to complete week 2. Lucky for me, I didn't need to go buy more neutral until week 4 so I bought the same print I got for week 2 rather than try to go scrappy like I did for week 1. Now that we are using neutral again, I find myself wondering if I should shop for more scrappy neutral material, use what's left from what I ...
  7. Done week 4 before midnight!

    by , 12-19-2016 at 05:59 AM
Since my last post I've finished week 3, bought more neutral fabric and my backing fabric, and sewed all 80 triangle in a squares for week 4. I'm so much happier at how this group turned out, make me want to go back and look at what I did on my earlier attempts during week 2.

  8. It's a puzzlement

I have no idea where these posts are coming from and why they're on my blog and why I even have a blog. It would be nice if it would just go away.

  9. I Made a Quilter's Tailor's Ham

I got the Half Dowel Rod at the Lumber Store. I chose a 2 inch diameter rod and covered it with batting and heat resistant fabric that I use for hot pads. I made mine 60 inches long. I put my seams on it and iron on top of the curve to get a really flat seam like when you add a boarder

  10. Done week 2 and halfway done week 3 - Mystery Quilt

    by , 12-14-2016 at 01:06 PM
I just realized I hadn't posted my progress last week for the triangle in a square. And I'm halfway to being done for the purple 4 squares. Material is cut in strips and 2 long edges are sewn, just need to cut double strips to size and sew the next 80 squares together. The mannequin is getting a little busy.
