The only quilt my mom made was a Dresden Plate set in a garden maze. She made the quilt top while she was expecting me and quilted it 20 years later after I left home. The family joke was that I grew up in the middle or that quilt. It is now 75 years old and in excellent condition since it has been kept in a cedar chest all these years. (I know, it needs to be aired out and it's been years since I've done that, so I think I'll do it now--it's a beautiful day in Maryland, but awaiting Hurrican Sandy.) Thanks for the memories which brought the reminder.
