This will be my journal about my sewing, knitting, and crocheting projects. I'll talk a little about my family and my pets, as well. Hope everyone enjoys it.*

  1. Making progress on my quilt top.

    by , 02-02-2012 at 06:06 AM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
I have all the HSTs sewn and ironed. Last night I trimmed the dog ears off each one and tried to organize them by color. I placed the first two rows on my cutting table in the order I want them. Tonight I will square the HSTs and sew some of them together.

It's a quiet day at work today. Both my bosses are out of the office, one is working in another state and another is off using personal time. And my co-worker that shares my space is out today as well.

  2. Hurray! Today is payday!

    by , 01-31-2012 at 06:40 AM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
What a nice way to perk up my Tuesday by depositing money into my checking account. Hurray.

I did some more sewing on my HSTs last night and I only have one more stack of about 30 left to sew. I should finish those up tonight and I'll start ironing tonight as well. I'm sewing them on my Singer 301A, Helen, and she is doing such a great job. I'm also chain piecing which is something I have never done before. It's lots of fun. Then is it on to arranging my squares or not, ...

  3. Another workweek has begun

    by , 01-30-2012 at 06:01 AM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
Here I am at work, dreaming about sewing up my HSTs for my quilt top. I finished cutting this weekend and even started piecing the HSTs. I finally used my Singer 301A for the first time yesterday sewing the HSTs. The machine works great, I'm so glad I bought it. I'm going to do some sewing every night this week and I hope to have all the HSTs put together by Friday. I still have to decide how I want to sew them together in the quilt top.

  4. Organizing Saturday

    by , 01-28-2012 at 05:03 AM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
Well, I went into my little sewing studio and did some organizing this morning. I cleaned off the cutting table and now it only has the necessary items on it for cutting and a couple of projects. I also moved my table for the sewing machines in front of the window so I can take advantage of the natural light during the day when I sew on the weekends. I will be taking pictures of the room and each of my sewing machines this morning for my inventory.

    I organized my 5" squares ...

  6. Another Friday and another weekend for me.

    by , 01-27-2012 at 08:32 AM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
I'm looking forward to this weekend. I haven't been doing much in the way of sewing this week. I did finish up a knitted piece that is ready for felting. I'm going to make it into a hot pad to give away to a family member. Last weekend I finally finished up four potholders I was making before Christmas. Those will also be given away at the family reunion. Tonight I will finally start cutting the fabric for my first lap quilt. This is the quilt I will give away at the family reunion this ...

  7. Machine Inventory

    by , 01-21-2012 at 03:51 AM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
I created a sewing machine inventory for my six sewing machines. I make a note of the serial number, the model, date of manufacture if I know it, and any information I have about the previous owner, if I knew them. I note any attachments that the machine has and any special stitches it does. I also write down if it will FMQ.

I started this inventory for my DD because she will inherit these machines and I want her to have all this information handy. I also included the two machines ...

  8. It's cool enough here to wear my new fleece boa scarf

    by , 11-29-2011 at 06:14 AM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
I made a couple of fleece boa scarves for myself. I wore one to work this morning and let all the girls know if they want me to make any for them all they have to do is buy the fleece and I'll make it for free. I figured someone would be interested in it for a Christmas present or two.

It was 38 degrees this morning when I got up at 5:00. Pretty chilly for us. I was warm all night with two cats sleeping on me. They are the best heating pads ever.

    I have to go ...

  9. Vintage Domestic Sewing Machine, Model 801

    by , 11-26-2011 at 07:06 PM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
I lifted the head of the sewing machine out of the cabinet and found the model number and serial number for the machine. This is the machine my DD inherited from her Grandmother. DD did not have anywhere to store it so I told her I would keep it at my house for her. It's a lovely machine and seems to run great. Tomorrow I will give her a good wipe down (she's quite dusty and grimy) and see how well she stitches. DD named her after her grandmother, Carolina. I'll post a picture in my sewing ...

  10. Sewing Christmas Gifts.

    by , 11-26-2011 at 12:38 PM (annthreecats ~~~my blissful crafting journey~~~)
I finally started sewing the potholders I'm making for Christmas gifts. I assembled 12 potholder tops this morning. I have 3 more to make. I'm giving away one to each of my 7 co-workers and one to each of my bosses' wifes, a couple to each of brother, and one set for me. I just have to cut the backs out, the insul-brite and I have the cotton batting on order. I will get the cotton batting in about 9 days.

I have to cast on to knit one more dishcloth, and they will all be done. ...
