Back from the twilight zone.....

I have been off the Quilting Board for way too long. Life happened and I seem to have crashed and burned a bit. My apologies if I missed anything I should've done. I was having a difficult time and then last year my mother passed away. I escape into my sewing and quilting and have just recently started to resurface publicly. so, where am I at as a quilter? I feel like I am emerging from a hiatus spent in the twilight zone in many ways. I have spent my time well I believe, learning how to use various feet and attachments for my Bernina 380 and making a few wall hangings and quilts as well as a few bags along the way. Currently I am working on a crib set for a great-great niece who arrived on Super Bowl Sunday. Momma picked a lovely combination of minkee fabrics and snow camouflage fabric for the quilt and bumpers and dust ruffle. I do not like mixing fabrics, but this is what she wants, so I am making it. I have discovered the differential feed on my serger and am glad I invested in it.
My other quilting project at the moment is my first block for a block of the month quilt called Here Comes Christmas --- I took an antique photo of my grandmother and her younger brother and printed it in black and white, used sharpie to outline the main parts and then copied those onto heat and bond lite I have everything ironed on now and need to stitch around it. Trying to decide how to do the facial features --whether or not to use thread or pigma pens to do the features.
Next quilt I have to finish is a Halloween one that I started and set aside last fall. I am going to finish it and then it is on to Chris Florence's Labyrinth Walk quilt --- I think in reds and black and white for my son and daughter-in-law.
Onward and upward....
