In looking at the quilt I saw that it is probably made as a strip pattern sewed in a straight line, then you cut your blocks on the diagonal 45 degree line. Turn the blocks like you want them. Add a sashing on opposite sides, stitch your rows and then add separator sashes between the rows. If you count the strips in the blocks, you get 11. Therefore the center strip is a finished 2 " and the rest are finished at 1" making it a 12 inch finished block. So cut your strips at 2 1/2 inches
