I have tried the ABC method - works sometimes, but really I have my hard cover books together, the little thicker ones with title on binding but not hardcover together, then the thinner ones are all together. I finally put them on an excel document so I can keep track of what I have and I can keep my list with me (on my iPod) so I don't buy duplicates as often as before.
I have taken some of my favorite books to FedEx and had them spiral bound so they wouldn't fall apart - I love being able to lay them flat. I usually make a color copy of the pattern I am using and keep it with the project - that way the book stays nice and I can write on my copy - keeping track of progress, etc.
w7sue - very good ideas you left me with. thank you very much
