During the month of July, i contemplated heavily on returning to the world of quilting after 23 yrs. Since my family is raised and most have moved out and on with their lives, I now have a room to where I can hopefully make my dreams come true. My own "lil girlie cave". yessss. ahhhh so onward i got out some paint and repainted the room to the colors i had on hand. Top half of room is white and the bottom half is dark cherry with a border that matches soo perfectly. i forgot i had this border but found it when I was cleaning and sorting stuff. It looks like someone knitted a long strip with bear, moose, and snowflakes all in the colors i love. blue dark cherry and light tan with a bit of hunter green. After the painting procedure was completed, I started to set up in my cave an old filing cabinet which im still in the process of covering it with woodgrain contact paper. The cabinet itself is ugly. I now have an antique table for my cutting area-old card table as my sewing table for now until i can upgrade to something much nicer, and my ironing board, shelving unit for all my info. etc., and my computor desk. This week I did alot of surfing for information, patterns, and tips and joined this group. Meeting wonderful people who are so helpful and kind, who don't make me feel like a newb which i am . I have been viewing lots of albums on this site in amazement of all the beautiful work which clearly states its all a labor of love. To date I have found some fabrics at good will, 2nd hand shops , walley, online sales etc. I got a start. Today i recieved 2 lil orders for rulers , grippers and a charm pak which the term is new to me. Years ago they didn't call them that. Well im getting a slow start and so excited. currently i am putting a small wall scrap hanging together, that seems to have all the mistakes of a beginners dream. But that is ok, as one learns from their mistakes. I am so looking forward to the near future, learning and stitching in my lil girlie cave.
