I have recently been diagnosed (if that is the correct term) as having lymphedema. It is a problem with the lymph nodes in your body that have stopped working for whatever reason. Many women who have had breast cancer suffer with this problems in their arms. I have it in my legs stemming from a bout with appendicitis when I was 18 months old - starting there then one injury after another accumulating until in my late 40's it became a full blown problem. Unfortunately, I was not diagnosed until my 60's - Thank goodness I have started having my legs wrapped and will be in compression stockings soon. Would like to hear from others that have this problem -
What is lymphedema? Does it mean that your legs are swelling and not getting rid of excess fluid? My leg muscles hurt so bad that I could cry. I do wear Jobst compression thigh high stockings. Don't wear the ones that only go to the knees. Dr said they cut the circulation off at the back of the leg. The first ones I got made my legs hurt even worse. I showed my husband my leg today when we were sitting in the front room. Had a fist size dent in leg and didn't want to go away altho it finally did after about 15 min.
