Today I was able to prep the enlarged patterns, trimming them and joining pieces so they are ready to trace onto the fusible. I traced snapdragons. squash, peppers, tomatoes and carrots. They are now ready to fuse to the batik fabrics! Tomorrow I have a trip planned to Fabric Corner to raid the 1895 batiks.
I also have some sailboats traced and ready to fuse for another project and need dark and light blues for them. This is a possible entry into a book being written by a friend. My quilt as you go technique is what I am working on. I don't like the potholder method with all the bindings around each piece, and I don't want sashing covering up the joints. So the center part is going to be a closeup (really close) face of a paint turtle. Then a row of party fish followed by the sailboats. I have to get permission from a couple of designers, then I'll tell you more!
The third project I'm working on is the guild challenge. This year it is a quilted item with fruit or veggie fabric. I plan to show some samples; a fruit pie potholder, a juice placemat, a slice of berry pie grocery tote, canning jars full of veggies, and other possible fruit and veggie items.
Below is a picture of two of the patterns being used in the garden quilt. The picture of the wheelbarrow was too small to show.
