A good day of quilting with friends

I spent six hours at my local quilt shop quilting with friends. It has been a few weeks since I had been and it was good to catch up with everyone.
I had a stack of flannel sample squares that were given to me to make some charity quilts with. I have made one, and was able to decide on and cut out two more. There was enough that one of my friends purchased the rest of it to make one for herself. I now have money to give to the group to spend on supplies for more quilts!
I will have three quilt tops from this stack of flannel and am planning a trip to Fabric Depot, in Portland, to purchase backing material for all of them.
I also was given a stack of scrappy stars made from some older fabric - not sure what their vintage is so am looking forward to my trip to Tillamook and the Latimer Quilt Museum to see what they have to say about them. I quilt with a group at the beach, in Pacific City, and one of the ladies there does a lot with antique quilts that she picks up - she may end up with all 25 of them!
I am thinking that we might split them and see what comes from them - should they be pieced with background fabric or appliqued down - if applique, do I do raw-edge or turned? All these questions and no answers until next week. Oh, well ...
