Hi everyone, My name is Denise, I have been "stalking" this site for months, it's so fab to read all the articles and see the wonderful quilts, unfortunately I was laid off from work a few months ago, but this gave me the incentive to open a little quilting unit and sell fabric, lovely. : ) , I also acquired a Gracie pinnacle frame and brought a janome 1600P so my ladies could long-arm there own quilts, but having lots of problems with this machine, the thread keeps breaking, have tried a bigger needle 40weight thread ...spent a whole day changing tensions, needles, threads etc. so frustrating....has anyone got any ideas....please

    Hi dinny50. I am so new at longarming I probably should not say a thing, but I too have been having trouble with my Gracie and Juki quilter. Farm Wife (Susan) has been trying to mentor me through my frustration and agony. I must confess I haven't tried it yet but plan to do so tonight. She told me the trouble with my bobbin is probably uneven winding. I have made the corrections on that as she suggested with even winding and pre-wound bobbins. I totally forgot to mention the breakage of needles to her, as this too is a major problem for me. So I have changed my needle to a large number, like 90/14. We'll find out tonight if I have done any good. I would appreciate learning anything you do. I need all the tutoring I can get. Thank you, Patti
