Back from runaway quilters retreat! So much fun, so many lovely quilters, so many quilts to see. I took a couple of my 221s, a spare just in case, but no problems so one just stayed in the car all week. I got a lot done and had a really great time with lots of other quilters. Already looking forward to next year!
Well sent off check to pay for a quilt retreat in late Sept. Here in Ky. Runaway quilters was so much fun and such nice ladies from all over. I am taking two of my 221s, the blue one and the hot pink one, both with matching thread as the quilt I will be making is blues and hot pink😆 I know, I know, I thought I was sick, but turns out its just a quirk Lol, I just like things to match. I am going to do a practice quilt before I start on the other two at the retreat. So I got out some
I think I am so sick, last year at the quilt show I got a darling hot pink 221 , well today I ordered hot pink rottery cutter, matt, seam ripper and scissors! I have Ott lamp to match and pink pin cushion and pink pins, yes I think I'm sick lol
I think I am getting back to my first love in quilts, log cabins, need to add some more, LOL
Have 3 wall log cabins to add soon as I finish hand quilting the 3ed one
I am so happy, the quilt I made for the 4H raffle brought in the $1000. we hoped to raise to buy sewing machines for the gals in 4H classes. a lady from Ha. won, so now one of my quilts will go way way west.
I am still up in the clouds from the quilt show, I just love my new little raspberry 221 FW, looks so cute with the green on one side and the blue on the other side, the 2 black ones are on the outer tables.
One of the things I learned at the show was how to load
Well this years quilt show was really great, met lots of lovely people and saw so many beautiful quilts, so many fun goodies to buy and yes I did my share. I added a lovely raspberry colored FW to my studio. to go with the green and the blue and 2 black FW's thats IT, no more. with my 4 Pfaff 7570's and Pfaff serger and the Nolting, I think I am all set for machines. I have gotten rid of and given away most of the other machines I had. Now will just get on with making the quilts and dyeing and
Today was a busy day for me, I had a my column to write for our paper, "The quilter's corner", and then I had several numbers I had to call about our first guild meeting, and our quilting bee. So my weeks are getting shorter, class on Sat and Tue, for 4H, quilting bee on Wed.s and two guild meeting each month. Have a group page set up for our guild which I will also have to keep up, so will be busy and having lots of quilty fun over the next months' What with finishing the quilt i started
Well I am home again from the Runaway quilter's retreat here in KY. Oh my what fun that was. met so many lovely ladies, and learned new things, gained weight, made several blocks, used my FW 221 and it worked great, will be using it a lot more now. Learned I so over packed, LOL learned what I do not need to take next time.
Am still putting things away, and trying to clean up my studio, have to get it ready for my class Sat.
The classes offered at the retreat were great, and I think
the cottage is done, I have water, elec, lights, air, heat, outlets for iron, hair dryer, washer, spin dryer, music on CD player, fan, every thing I could want or need. I find now I spend some time in the cottage every day, either dyeing or painting fabric. Sat. the twins and I spent time painting their fabric for there dragon quilts. Sun. I did some fabric for mine. Mon. I heat set fabric, today I went out first thing, heat set my deep purple fabric for my dragon, will do the sliver fabric this
