Need some advice

I'm using my HP inkjet printer to print on cotton for purpose of making a picture quilt. The pictures are coming out fine but I'm wondering if there is a fixative I should be using on the pictures? I ironed my fabric to freezer paper and then fed it through my printer. Surely will appreciate your advice. Thanks so much

    Did you check if your ink is correct for washing? There is a special paper for HP printers that you print a reverse picture on it and iron it on the fabric. The paper has a emulsion that fixes the ink. What model of printer do you have?

    You will need to pre-treat your fabric with Bubble-jet or use a pre-treated fabric sheet such as EQ Printables. Untreated photos on fabric will fade soon. I make a lot of photo and memory quilts and EQ Printables are the best. I have used Bubble-jet, which is cheaper, but it is messy. You can do a search online for printable fabric sheets and you will get information on several types. Hope this helps.

    I am kind of experimenting right now. I did find the fixative I was looking for and am going to do some experiments with laundering, etc. Thanks for your input. Best Wishes!
