I have been quilting since I was a young girl, along with needlepoint and all forms of embroidery.
I also tole paint.
I have been married to my sweetheart for 34 years' have 2 children and 1 grandson. They are the purpose of my life!
My Grandmother, Aunt & Mother taught me to embroider and quilt. I grew up on a dairy farm outside of Buffalo, NY, and during the long winters we would sit in the parlour and work on Baptism bibs for our church.. We would embroider a red cross and then sandwich and quilt the bib for new babies coming into the church. Even though it is more than 5o years ago, I can remember it like it was yesterday.
I did not quilt while I was in high school, but was heavy into clothes sewing. When I married, I found my Mother-in-law quilted, and picked it back up again, and haven't stopped since.
In the 1980's I began teaching friends locally, and eventually began teaching at our guild and at local quilt shops.
In the 1990's I started my own quilting studio, here in my home, and teach & design here everyday.
I currently watch my 15 month old Grandson, Logan, while my daughter, Sharon, teaches at the local high school. So I don't get much done during the day, needless to say, running after him all day. But the minute he's out the door, I head to my studio!
In the evenings, I enjoy working on my hand quilting. I find it restful, like reading a book for some. It winds me down from a very busy day.
I am currently working on a hand appliqued and quilted king bed quilt for a show entry in 2012.
