"Purple Haze all in my brain"

I'm making a charity raffle quilt for my church. Decided that a "quick" but complex looking quilt would be to make 36 patch (2" blocks) scrappy looking 12" blocks with wide sashings and star cornerstones in the sashings using the Marti Michelle ruler. Blocks went together so nicely and had just enough fabric--although will finish at 11.5" instead of 12! Thought I'd get all the sashing done today--not happening! got a late start (re-chaulked the bath) and then realized--thankfully with the first set of star points--that I was "off" on the star points and they would never flip & fold as planned. So, spent the evening un-sewing and re-marking while watching "Romancing the Stone".
Before I start sewing sashing pieces together again I need to check my 1/4" seam--may be the reason that the blocks off, too.
Perhaps part of the challenge is I'm using all purples, greys and white--our local high school colors and also a state university colors--cause I think that it will attract more raffle purchases. But really, they are not "my" colors. While I won't put this on the label, I'm calling it "Purple Haze" and humming some Jimmy Hendrix cause it puts me in that kind of a daze--er, I mean mood! Pictures once it's finished.
Taking a break tomorrow and playing with another charity quilt on the long arm while the temps hover below 0--at a high!
Keep warm and keep creating!
