This was a week I had been dreading since early November when my sister-in-law found out that the little girl growing inside her belly was not going to live long after birth. Monday she sent a message that she was going to be induced, and that there would be a service to follow. Thursday morning, my niece passed. No matter how much you think you can prepare, it's not enough. To cope, the sewing machine has been running a lot. I got a request on my etsy shop for a twin sized quilt for the lady's daughter, so I've been focusing more on that. I was thinking about making something for the SIL, but not sure what to make. I have made the memory bears before, but there aren't any belongings from the baby to use. Any ideas?

Here is a thought for a project in remembrance. Take the ribbons/bows from the flowers and cut/arrange them into a quilting pattern... glue to a sturdy board that could be framed. Maybe a satin background with batting behind it. If their was a photo, maybe add it to the center before framing.

Another idea I have held dear for many years now was a nice box that I was given to put all my memories of my child. I put his blanket, hospital cards cards from family and friends ect.... I still have it 29 years later.

It always makes me so sad when I hear of a baby passing. I wish they could all be made whole and grow up. I believe in miracles and wish there were lots more.
