I am just finishing my first batik quilt. I sat down to hand sew the binding to the back but oh my goodness, this will take me years at this rate! I can barely even get my needle through the fabric! I sewed a couple of inches fighting the fabric all the way and gave up. Anyone have any suggestions as to needle size or thread, etc that would make this job any easier? It is starched fabric too by the way.
It took about 4 hours of cutting and 20 hours of sewing to assemble this super king sized ZIPPER Quilt. There are a total of 210 blocks and probably about 100 different bali/batik fabrics in this one. I can't wait to quilt it but wanted to give you a sneak peak of it. The picture shows about 25% of the finished quilt. Its huge!
