I'm pretty new to quilting myself, but my mom loves to do it. I'm thinking about getting her fabric to make this quilt, but I don't know how much she would need. I want to get the material for her and surprise her for Christmas with a new project to help with the "cabin fever" I know she'll catch in a month or so. How much material would you suggest for basically everything (to make the squares, the center picture, for the backing, and the black lining between everything) to make it for

I was told for my first quilt to make would be the "Log Cabin". Does anyone know where I can download a free pattern that will explain how to and how much material I will need? I appreciate your help. Excited to get started. Any other advice or easy pattern suggestions appreciated. Thank you!!!
This is my most recent quilt. I love the traditional log cabin. Pink is my favorite color. Gracing my new quilt is Ryan, one of five cats. She loves quilts as much as I do.
