My son just moved to NY for college. He felt the earthquake starting in Virginia and now IRENE. What a way to start his college years.

I'll be praying, too. Living here in Florida, the minute those low pressure systems start forming in the tropics, it starts this big speculation thing on the weather reports. Being in the "cone of probability" is absolutely no fun. But the thing is, when we pray it won't hit us... it's asking that it hits somebody else. So I ask, Dear God, that this turn out to be (another) overblown out-of-proportion rainstorm that is nothing but a big ol' dud. because this could put a big ol' hurtin' on a lot of people who are not prepared, and not insured for this. And if that storm does hit hard, you can bet the insurance companies are going to start charging hurricane premiums to anyone and everyone anywhere near a seaboard. And let me tell you, they are not pretty, with big fat deductibles on top of your regular deductible.

Sorry about the rant. Can you tell I just love living in The Hurricane State?? My prayers are out for all of you being visited by Irene. May she be weak and gone quickly.

It's a cat 1 now, will still pack a punch but not as bad as if it were a higher cat number.
