I hope it is not only me. On the left side of my screen, there are now flashing ads, which are very irritating. When did these companies begin to advertise?

I hate flashing ads. I have adblock on my browser so I don't see any but if I didn't, I wouldn't go to a website with flashing ads.

They shouldn't be there if you are logged in. Nonregistered people and non logged in members will see them there :D:D:D

I just checked in IE and don't see any flashing ads. Only about a hundred regular ones. The animated ones, while not flashing, would distract me almost as much.

eta: when I log in with IE I only see the ads at the top and bottom. The side ones (one of which was flashing after I went to a different page) were only there when I wasn't logged in.

I don't have ads on the left side either. I have them at the top and bottom of the screen, but not on the side.

Same here....they have to have ads somewhere to help pay for the cost of keeping the board going since we don't have to pay to join. I don't mind the top and bottom ones at all. The pop up ones are the ones I can NOT tolerate! :evil:

I have Firefox also. How do you get the ads at the top and bottom not to show? They really slow the site down for me.
