I finally realized after many years that I get seasonal allergies like my dad did. I don't get runny nose, congestion, sneezing or eye problems - just a heavy feeling in my sinuses and dizziness when I move my head. When I get up from lying down I feel like I might fall over and have to hold on to things.
I don't know what to do or take for it - does anyone else have this problem? I am not congested and can breathe easily, so a decongestant does not seem to be called for.

Inner ear infection?
Have you mentioned this to your doctor?

ears feel fine. I have gotten very disillusioned with MDs lately - seems most of the minor problems I have, I can diagnose and treat myself better than the docs.

go to your dr.
over the counter products may disguise the symptoms for a little while- but they will not cure the problem= or really make it better- your dr can prescribe something that will make it all better for much less$$ in the long run than spending $$ on symptom hiders over and over

Be sure it is not some type of vertigo. (inbalance in the inner ear.) I had it for months before going to a ENT man. He corrected the problem right than and there.

This year, I have had the same thing- it actually is your sinuses (or in my case it is). My doctor told me to take mucinex to loosen it up so that it moves out of my head.

I can't use Mucinex because it may cause heart palpitations and I already have them, thank you very much. However, I use a saline spray constantly and that's very helpful.

I have seasonal allergies and sinus issues too, but about three years ago, I started getting what you are describing. I missed a week of work because of the dizziness. There was no pain, no congestion, nothing but the dizziness. It happens like clockwork now in August. It doesn't seem to be as bad as it was the first year, maybe because I know it isn't anything serious. I had a CT scan the first year and they found "mild sinusitis." I don't do anything to treat it, just bear it. Keep using the saline. It's the most natural way to treat any sinus condition.

I'd see a doctor (a new one), too. But I'm also a big fan of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I only mention that because you've evidently had big problems with the medical establishment, and the right TCM practitioner can be honest with you about what s/he can do, and when it's time to find some antibiotics. ;)
