Thank you, TeddyB. I did your first suggestion and that was all set. I'll have to try the next, the next time that annoying thing takes over.
I live in NH and it's been happening for a while. Very frustating and as others have said, only happens on this site and only when I'm on.

I live in MA too, and am getting it also but it doesn't seem that it could be limited to a state. Anybody else having the issue? And: How can we get rid of it? Not sure what the ad(?) is.

Are you able, is anyone able to report it as spam?
Would that help? I clear my spam out first thing after going to my e-mail every time. It sure has cut down on the numbers, because the return cookies code reports that they are unread.
I recently enrolled with a free microsoft security program.
They offer help with problems like this...You can actually talk to a live person if you want to, or chat with a technician. They will probably already know about this nusance pop up.
They keep after a problem until it is solved. If they say they will get back to you they will.

I do have an antivirus and pop up blocker on my computer and this is the only site that this is happening on. :-(
I have never had this happen to me!

This should help somewhat but you will probably need something to remove the adware.

Also you can block an individual page from opening. First right click on the url in the address bar of the page you wanna block. Now click on TOOLS and then INTERNET OPTIONS and then click on PRIVACY (same as above). Just above the box to checkmark to turn on pop up blocker, there is a button that reads SITES. Click on this and then right click and paste the url in the box that reads ADDRESS OF WEBSITE, then click on BLOCK. Then click on OK to exit out of there.
It popped again on me a few minutes ago. I followed TeddyB's directions in the second paragraph and am holding my breath that'll work. So annoying when you are on here just to relax!

I would venture to guess that the people this is happening to are using Internet Explorer as their browser. I stopped using IE a bunch of years ago when Firefox came out and have not had problems with annoying popups since. Other browsers that don't seem to be affected by popups are Google Chrome and Safari.

I use Safari; never see pop - ups, nor viruses.
