They do look nice. It's still too cold her to grow plants outside. I'm looking forward to getting some things going next month, though.

I don't have any seeds either. I usually buy little plants at the nursery or the grocery in the spring when it gets warm enough- I buy whatever they have...

this was last summer's pix..hehehe
so far the chives are up and French tarragon..I think the rosemary died..after 5 years, this winter was our harshest with way too many days below zero...

I have already bought more mints and a new rosemary!

Will you tell a bit about how you use the herbs? You mentioned medicinal and pest control? Would love to hear your ideas.

It's to cold here to start planting.
I haven't saved any seeds in the past, I usually buy new plants each year...I know it's wasteful.
Which herbs are you using for pest control?
Also what kind of medical herbs do you grow?
All I have ever grown was culinary herbs.

For pest control in the garden, garlic, oregano, tons of basil, sage and rosemary! OH and borage of course..

for medicinal many have to be started from cuttings..they just are hardier..but if you greenhouse you can do them from seed!
I grow borage, chicory, chives, wormwood, bergamot, bay leaf, echinacea, fever few, rue, lavender, lemon balm, marjoram, mullein, parsley, patchouli, sage, stevia, all mints, yarrow, poppies, goodness..there are so many...

some are used in foods as well as for medicines..I make teas/tisanes mostly and some bath and skin care products as well.

I love herbs...and believe that they make the very best landscaping material!

here is a great chart on what they can be used for..I have tons of books I use!
