Now that the kids have all moved out I just bought a fake one from Walmart. Can use it year after year.

Heard about it last night. Heard about the peanut crop also. If we don't get rain soon there will be a lot of shortages I'm afraid.

We carved the real pumpkins when the kids were small. Now my youngest is 10 and they prefer to carve the foam kind you get at the craft stores.

Too much rain caused the pumpkins to rot on the vines, at least in our area.

Wow, good to know. I just bought 7 pumpkins this weekend. Would have bought more too, except they didn't have any little garden wagons for me to use, so I had to carry and purchase two at a time and take them to my car. I like to make a nice display with them.

In our area the flooding from Irene and Lee wiped out entire crops and not just pumpkins either. It is devastating and heartbreaking.
