I am headed to my first appointment with them tomorrow. a co-worker and his wife here have been on it since March and have dropped a lot of pounds and are looking good. I need to lose some serious weight, and get off these cholestrol lowering meds. So I was wondering if anyone in the quilting family has any experience with this program. Good or bad.

i would be wary of this diet. here is a link to some posts by followers of this diet. http://caloriecount.about.com/anobod...otein-ft128350
you can lose weight on the low calories. however, what is it doing to your body? and when you return to normal eating, you will gain it back. one poster says that the menu is only 900 calories.

Ugh.. I tried a diet that was 800 calories. IMPOSSIBLE. I could do it a couple days, but then, I just want to EAT. Plus, not being able to eat what I want is a recipe for disaster for me. I do MUCH better on a plan that lets me eat what I want, but limits the calories (WW is what I am doing now, but it has that same prinicpal).

I agree with MellieK. WW is what I use (although I've been bad for the past week or so and haven't lost any more weight..)

Try eating a NO NAME diet. Only FRESH fruit and veggies that look like they should, and meat fresh from the meat area. NOTHING that comes with a name, even Weight Watchers. No Campbell's soups, no Kellogg's, etc. Just plain foods. Water frying, check it out on the Internet, it's easy and delicious. Use a lot of herbs. Toss the salt, if you must have any use some that hasn't been refined into a pure chemical.

I wish I could be that regimented... but.. how do you do that unless you never leave the house?

I had a week with no loss as well. (I know why..) and I did lose one this last week. I just keep saying to myself "see.. you can maintain.. but you have to lose it first. :) )

The research I did said it is good for your pancreas it helps get back to functioning correctly which I definitely could use. I have read more good reviews then bad so far. Having surgery scares me, plus it doesn't always work. I cannot participate in weight watchers because of my pancreas and being hypoglycemic. I think that with a doctor supervising the diet it might be alright, I guess I will see what they have to say to my questions tomorrow.
