Yes, I have learned to re- read my posts before posting but a few funny words still slip through. Sometimes I get quite a chuckle out of what shows up.

I post here, from my computer. However, I've had lots of "fun" texts, with my cell phone. Some phones allow the option of not having auto-correct . . . but then you miss all the fun!

I don't have an iPhone, but I thought I'd read somewhere that you can change a setting and turn it off?

don't have a phone, but I had to turn off that on Google, it was driving me nuts. I am the boss of my machines, not the other way around!! I keep telling myself that. Now if I could get the darn microwave to stop beeping at me when it is done.

Just Google "turn off autocorrect on (your brand name) phone" - either Wikihow or Ehow will have instructions.

Ironically, I use Google email and they are changing it, including eliminating Spell Check, which was not automatic, but helpful for someone who never took a typing class.

LOL - so funny - that explains a lot! I was wondering about why some posters posted what they did! I have a cheap cell phone - DH and I have prepaid minutes and even text messages cost but we don't use them for "chatting". Haven't even learned how to text. I guess those smart phones could be called smart-donkey phones (trying to keep it clean).

I very seldom charge up my phone. If I get a call I don't always hear it. We work in a metal building and can't get a signal. It also sets down in a hole type place.

I hate that too! Why do they have to have beepers? I can hear just fine when the motor stops running. When we replaced our microwave a few years back, the number one item on my wish list was the option to turn the dang beep off.
