On a recent visit to my parents' home, my dad, my nephew, and my son were coming back from church through the bottom drive onto their property (I take the top drive because I don't have 4-wheel drive), my dad almost hit a baby fawn. My dad stopped to make sure it was okay and my nephew picked it up. (My mom and sister were heading up that same road and would have ran it over!) They brought it up to the house and my kids got to pet it. We returned it down to the willows where it's mom was and my dad helped it stand up and walk. The baby was fine and reunited with its mom who had made it to the other side of the drive with the fawn's twin.

If you look closely, you can see the baby in the willows

That is sweet! When I was in Petsmart last week buying bird food, there was a rescue lady who had a very small fawn that she was buying a harness for. The mom had been killed by a car so she was raising it. It was so cute.

OOHHH how precious ... and Mom took it back after you put it back ? I don't know how deer act, just know you can't handle some animals or Mom gets mad and rejects baby

The deer around my parents' place are around humans all the time. They spend as much time in the town as they do out of it. The next day, we saw the mom standing over her babies, so we were sure she took it back. (I asked my dad the same question!)

I miss my deer. there has been so much development in our area, that my deer have stopped coming up to the house or grazing in my yard.
