My experience with ball fringe is that it's great until it's washed and then it becomes a wonky, matted mess. Is there a ball fringe out there that maintains it's shape and doesn't mat? And, if so, where can I buy it?

I don't know of any thet will withstand washing. I wonder if you could attach with velcro and take it off before washing?

I see them on curtains in magazines. Were they meant not to be washed I wonder and just used for a magazine layout????

I agree...but I am thinking of the kitchen curtains that my Mom had in her kitchen growing up...each time she washed them it was my job to iron them...ewwwwwwww...I forgot to add that I am 61 so that was a long time ago...maybe it's different now...lol...Naomi

I've never heard them called ball fringe. In the late 50's and early 60's, they were called dingle berries and the guys who glued them to their headliners were supposed to be really cool dudes. I doubt they ever got washed.
