Default Beautiful evening on the beach!

I was flabbergasted when I saw the 11:00 news and they talked about all the damaage in the Detroit area. We are only a couple of hours north of that area, and I spent the evening down on the beach. The water was soooooo warm, I could have just dived in. There were small rolling waves coming up on shore, but the water was so clear you could see every stone on the bottom. I picked up a handful of petosky stones and 2 more of "just plain pretty" stones for my collection. Looking south, it was a little darker, but the sky was beautiful overhead! I stayed down there until I couldn't see any more. It sure was hard coming to work this morning!! Lake Huron is a beautiful place to live!!! I feel very blessed.

Good for you to be so close to the water and to be able to enjoy it. Sounds awesome.

I am jealous of your location on the coast like that! We summered in Harbor Springs for many many years and my mother retired to Petoskey for 15 years before coming 'home' in her mid-eighties. I wish I had some of the Petoskey stones I found over the years. And the beautiful Indian quilt baskets. I hate the oceans now that I've learned what swimming in fresh water and waves with sugar white sand beaches feels like!

Lucky you!

I didn't see anything about the damage in Detroit, and a friend who lives in D didn't say a word, but I did see the damage further west in Albion.

There were a few areas that were hit with high winds. It whipped through my town (between Ann Arbor and Detroit) quickly, penny size hail out by my sister who is on the St. Clair River, and tore up trees and power lines here and there. The damage pales in comparison to other storms across the nation this week from fire & flooding out west. I see you are in the thumb area, nice area of the state! Love to canoe at the tip by Port Austin.
