This is not a PAYPAL problem- it's a criminal problem. Paypal NEVER sends a link in their emails- to avoid this very thing. They try to keep secure. So never click on anything in an email pretending to be Paypal.

dreamer, you are absolutely right. I used to get them and forward to [email protected] but now my Gmail picks them up as spam. I should forward them anyway. Thanks for the reminder.

Sue, with my brain injury I got taken it by one of those emails and it took forever to get paypal to get me straight again...
now I always call them when I get an email from them as I trust nothing where that is concerned. Gave them personal info and everything...scary.

I don't understand why you would quit using PP because of these emails. If you got one from your bank would you quit using banks?
They are easy to spot, just "hover" over the link they want you to click on, it will show you what website the link will take you to. If it is not where you want to go, just delete it. Or forward it.

I fell for that once, too.
Even went and got a pass word from Visa.
Fortunately, I did - eventually - that same evening - have enough sense to call PayPal. They told me to get a different credit card number and I did.
I sure felt stupid!
The only complaint I have about PayPal is that one kind has to search to find the info for what to do if one suspects fraud or phishing.
