There's a big wildfire on the other side of the valley from us, going on now. It's currently about three or four miles wide and about a mile tall, going up the mountain. Friends of ours live less than a half-mile below it, and they're currently evacuating. This picture was taken a few minutes ago, from our backyard 10 miles away from the fire.

Be careful! I hate to see those fires start up again, anywhere!

Hope you stay safe. How long has it been burning?

Oh dear! That's not good! It will be an anxious night. Pack up your valuables just in case. Pictures, insurance, bank books, passports, medications and a suitcase of clothes.

It's about 10 miles away and going the other way. We also have about 10 miles of green irrigated hay fields between us and there, so we're in no danger.

But thanks for your concern!

That's so sad and scary. I'm glad you are safe. . .
Western Nevada, does that mean you're in pine trees?

Hope everyone is safe. We've had several nearby and it is scary. Fire developes a life of its own.
