Default Which blender to buy?

I am thinking of getting a Vita something blender and wonder if others have one or something similar? I borrowed one of my friends and really like it but they are pricey. so what do others use or recommend?

I have had a Vitamix blender for over ten years and I love it and it still works great. There are cheaper brands out there but I don't know anything about them.

Is the Vitamx blender noisy? The blender I have now bothers my hard of hearing hubby - says the noise level and frequency (or whatever that is) is excruciating at time.

I thought you were asking about fabric blenders from the title!

I have a Vita Mix. Have had it for about ten years. It is extremely powerful, it is loud- but it sure works great.

I just bought one a few months ago and love it! The first time I made soup in it I couldn't believe it. It was hot and ready to eat in 6 minutes. I'm not a big soup fan, but this sure made it easy. What I bought it for was to make fruit and veggie smoothies for breakfast. I had a Kitchen-Aide before and it was good, but the VitaMix is great!

I have an old Cuisinart that I wouldn't trade for anything else. It came with a food processing attachment as well. Love that work horse.
