This may seem insignificant to many, and I do not mean it to be so, but wanted to share a sweet story out of last night's horrors...

My son sent me a message this morning from a friend of his. They live in Dalton, GA where some of the hardest storms hit in our state. The young man (friend of my son's) had gone out after the initial storms last night to go through the rubble of what was left standing of a quilt shop to search for his mother-in-law's quilts that had been there on display. He could not stand the thought that 15yrs of quilting work may have been lost in the horrible storm so he left at midnight to go to a store that was totally demolished to look through the rubble to see if he could find any quilts. When he made it to where the store had stood, the ONLY part of the store still standing was the gallery where her quilts had been hanging. There they were, for the most part untouched! He said the scene was worse than we could have imagined. This just touched my heart knowing that someone cared for quilts like we do.

So many lost everything... My heart is just so full for all of them.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. It is so nice to hear the effort he went to to save them and then to think that the gallery was all that was standing-remarkable all around!
Hugs

To me this shows the power of the SIL's love for his MIL and her works.
